Benefit
Planned for Rural Ryan 9-year-old
Posted 21 June 2008
This afternoon, Saturday, June 21, a benefit will be held for 9-year
old Maggie Saunders of Ryan, the daughter of Al and Deb Saunders.
Maggie is currently undergoing treatment for severe Aplastic Anemia, a
rare blood disorder. She has received chemotherapy and most recently, a
bone marrow transplant. She is continuing her recovery at University
Hospital in Iowa City.
The benefit will be held tonight at the Ryan Gym, with doors opening at
4 p.m., a live auction at 6 p.m. and a meal. A free will offering would
be appreciated.
If you would like to donate auction items for the silent or live
auction, contact Leta Anderson at 927-3114, Lorraine Gaffney at
932-2982, Shirley Retz at 927-3824 or Erin Zuck at 927-6333.
An account has also been set up at F&M Bank in Manchester for those
wishing to make a financial donation to the Saunders' family to help
with their medical costs.
