The
City of
Manchester welcomes your nominations for the Nice Neighbor Award. The
award is given continuously each month. If you know of someone who
deserves to be nominated for doing kind acts and being a good neighbor,
send a nomination letter to Mayor Milt Kramer at the city hall.
Everyone
is
welcome to attend "Second Helpings" - a free supper every
Monday evening at Manchester's United Methodist Church. Doors open at
4:30 p.m. and supper is served at 5:30 p.m. Call 927-4439 for

Bingo is every Wednesday, 6:30-9:30pm at the Delaware County Community
Center on the fairgrounds in Manchester.
Are you a high school student
looking for a fun place to go on Friday nights? Franklin Street
Underground in Manchester is hosting an event for young adults on
Friday nights. Doors will be open from 8 to midnight on Friday nights
for young adults in grades 9 - 12. There are pool tables, games,
computers to use and food. This event is sponsored by the Youth for
Christ organization. Franklin Street Underground is located at 107 1/2
South Franklin in the alley by Las Flores Mexican Restaurant. If you

first “Winter First Friday at 5 - Friday, February 3, 2012 at the
Fairgrounds Pavilion starting at 5:30 and ending at 8:30 or 9:00 Free
admission, music by Kick in Sound, brats sold as a fundraiser by
Manchester Good to Great, full bar, Chocolate Fest featuring 8 or 9
different types of homemade chocolate candy. Help us remember the
anniversary date of the “Day the Music Died” as we’ll be playing some
music from three American rock and roll pioneers: Buddy Holly, Ritchie
Valens, and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson.

Manchester Good to Great - River & Recreation Committee is holding
a public information meeting to discuss the proposed Whitewater Park
and Habitat Improvements at the Marion Street Dam on Monday February
20, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. in the F&M Bank Community Room, 101 East Main
Street, Manchester, IA.
(Use Alley Entry Door)
A formal presentation of the proposed improvements will be made by a
representative from Recreation Engineering and Planning (REP) beginning
at 6:00 PM. Following the presentation there will be personnel
available to answer questions and discuss the proposed project.
All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting.
